The Journey to the Stars Exhibit is a wonderful and worth the extra money. My 8 and 9 year old sons loved it! The entire museum is incredible. The dinosaur exhibit was a favorite.
Loved the Archibald Motley exhibit and the overall design aesthetic of the Whitney. Lower floors are still being renovated, but the open ones weren't incredibly moving. Stay for the views!
one the best museums in NYC with top, super high quality exhibitions. They often have art exhibitions for famous artists like man ray or eva hesse that fly under the radar. Seek it out, it's worth it.
The Morgan Library is a beautiful example of New York City Gilded Age architecture, with a number of exhibition spaces for rotating art displays.
A wonderful exhibit or Mary and Percy Shelley's books, writings, journals and even a bit of Percy's skull is one display here. Best of all it's completely free.
