This is my favorite place to spend a summer evening. Bring a picnic supper, pull up a blanket and enjoy some music. Grab some popcorn or an ice cream cone for a treat afterwards.

The top of the hill is a fantastic place to watch 4th of July fireworks! Bring your camera + a tripod! Also a nice picnic spot--be warned, not a lot of shade!

The lake was created in its current form in the early 20th century by dredging a small lake & marsh complex. The 2.86 miles of shoreline are publicly owned & averages 5.5 million visitors annually.
The Wabun has everything: wading pool, picnic tables, several pavilions, newly remodeled playgrounds, and great views of the Mississippi River.
Parking can be a problem. Get there early to get a table
Take it easy in the spinning seat in the middle of the park. It's the queazy-maker. Lots of picnic tables and shade.

Whether you just want to take a stroll, get some great icecream, feed the ducks or rent a sail boat, this is the place. It's a wonderful place to set and enjoy the beautiful trees and scenary.
The lake was donated to Minneapolis in 1885. There's an "elf house" carved into the base of an ash tree. For years one could leave a letter for the elf supposedly living there & sometimes get a reply.
Walk around Lake Harriet at sunset so you end up at the band shell for a little summer music. Then head up the hill to Sebastian Joe's for ice cream (two scoops, of course).
Awesome place to take the kids.. start off with a picnic, then play at the park about 50 feet away from the beach.. after that, cool off in the water!

Awesome park, the landscape is beautiful, the name it's just perfect, I enjoyed a lot to walk there, seeing and smelling so many flowers. Also the houses in the area are amazing.
The Spirit of Peace sculpture is a highlight that cannot be passed up. The park is home to lots of flora & fauna - say hi to the frogs and toads that are hopping around.
Construction of the garden occurred during 1907-08, and is the second oldest public rose garden in the United States. During peak season the garden can contain as many as 60,000 blooms.

The baked kibbi was super! And made for a perfect picnic! Paired with pita and tabouleh.
The good (we had the spinach pie and the hummus platter). The service was excellent and the experience was good. Very reasonable pricing.
Try the Baba ghanoush or the tabbouleh. Can't go wrong!
