Fried pillows! Love the stuffed gnocci and shrimp dish w substituted pink sauce or create own pasta dish w pillows, artichoke, shrimp, capers and pink sauce. Fritto misto app and tiramisu good too.
The food and service are great. I highly recommend the Chicken Marsala or Jumbo Raviolis. If it is your first visit, they will most likely give you a free dessert.
So far the only place I know outside of Japan that sells ika-no-sumi pasta (black ink pasta), in Il Pastaio's case, it is the Risotto Nero: Done just right!

This is my absolute favorite restaurant in L.A. Everything served explodes with flavor, and all flavor are meant to be there. Nothing is superfluous. Try the spicy fusilli and baby broccoli!

Start with the drink Refreshing. Cavatelli is a must. Beef Heart Tartare, Octopus Carpacio, Mussels, spaghetti Mancini, Orata, Zeppole & Chocolate Budino.
Lobster crostini, uni pasta, and the pork tomahawk were 💯 Cooked to perfection, juicy, and flavorful. Staff was attentive and atmosphere was super lively, trendy, and fun.
Gorgeous interior but a little crowded and hectic, hard to hear. My favs are bone marrow (that pasta is so good), the chicken gizzards, and the oxtail ravioli.
Everything is great-I recommend the crab cakes,spaghetti or corn chowder.

All the homemade pastas are delicious! Small restaurant, be ready to sit shoulder to shoulder with other diners, reservations required! Wait staff is very friendly! Scallop appetizer is great!
Great lasagna and pasta. Polipo is my favorite. I wonder how they can cook octopus so soft inside. No chewiness at all.

Sit in the front room and watch the chef make pasta all night. Squash blossoms, pizza, and all the pastas (especially the pappardelle) are amazing.
Focaccia bread and pappardelle is amazing. Don't skip the focaccia one bit.

The apps, gnocchi, salads and pizza are great. A glass of Barbera is always a solid complement to an Italian meal. Stay away from the creative ravioli creations.

The gnocchi is out of this world delicious, like clouds! Pair the mushroom cremini sauce with gnocchi and pesto with tag, add burrata. The tag's texture wasn't as good. The bread was 👌🏽
Pastas are great here, but let's talk cheese selection! 30 cheese from soft to blue cheese to hard cheese for $6-8 each and you can make your own cheese plate with figs, honey, walnut bread and more.

The house red wine is $5 a glass - which is great if you're with friends/ready to get sloshed. The Spinachi Salad is great for the calorie conscious; everyone else can splurge on the amazing pastas.

Amazing Italian but so busy so kinda slow. The creste rigate is hands down the best pasta. Ricotta crostini, calamari, burrata, squash blossom, and brussels parm salad were amazing. Love the donuts.
