Plenty of parking, food, chairs for rent. Also if you forget an umbrella, boogie board, sand bucket and shovels or some fresh cut up mango or melon, there are people selling it up and down the beach.
Started at Broadway and walked down all the way past California before I found a bench that didn't have a homeless person sleeping on it.
Make sure to stop by the Pacific Design Center and keep an eye out and camera ready for special events the Center hosts, like fashion shows and film screenings.

This is well worth a look, The Bradbury Building is the oldest commercial building remaining in the central city. The interior is breath taking, many films have been shot there like Blade runner
