Their Chicago Black Restaurant Festival inspired Gladys special is awesome. Salmon patty, rice w/chicken gravy & scrambled eggs. Add cheese grits, biscuit with peach preserve cuz that’s me fav there.
Have the fried Catfish Greens and Grits and you won't be disappointed
Everything! You cannot lose with anything from the menu! The sage ginger sausage is fantastic! I discovered the berry Arnold Palmer today and it's now my favorite!
Amazing pies! Tried the Honey, Maple Bourbon Pecan, and Blackberry Sage. No one could pick a favorite so we would each take a bite of pie and rotate. $5 each but so delicious.

Yeah, it gets mobbed for brunch on the weekends, but the black-bean cake and eggs is a winning breakfast any day of the week.
My neighborhood coffee shop, restaurant, bar. Great atmosphere! Friendly people, good menus from breakfast, lunch & dinner or anytime in between. Will try the cocktails sometime.

The soy chicken wrap and green power salad (with peanut sauce) are my two favorite items on the menu!
The peanut sauce is the best I've ever had. I'm not vegan or vegetarian, but I'll take soy chicken from here over real chicken anywhere else. Even the meat-loving boyfriend likes it!

Hands down my fave brunch place in all of Gold Coast, Streeterville, and River north. Gfree friendly, get the breakfast Sammie and an Americano topped with almond milk.
Fancy but cozy cafe and restaurant in the Gold Coast. The scones are buttery deliciousness.
Homemade soups are good & carry out bottles of wine are moderately priced. No wifi.
At the edge of Navy Pier a great place for draft beer amidst water and flowers.
Grab a beer from further down the pier near the entrance and save up to $3
