One of the better bakeries in the North End. Authentic Italian breads, cookies and pizza. Seeded and braided rolls are perfect for a meatball/chicken Parmesan sandwich. Prices are very reasonable too.

Make a pilgrimage to Southie every time I'm in Boston to get a chocolate berry cupcake. Last time I also bought a mini pie to take home to my dad, but I ate it on the plane. Sorry dad!

Pretty outstanding cocktails. Gnocchi great and the Veal with lobster risotto is amazing. Anything wood grilled is fantastic. Wine list huge, they have everything you would want.

If you want a traditional cannoli, Maria's trumps Mike's and possibly Modern. The ricotta filling is thicker and not as fluffy as Modern's (which isn't a bad thing). Try the candied fruit topping!

The food and ambiance were terrific! Great hidden gem in the North End. The only reason it doesn't get a full five stars was because out service was definitely a little spotty.
If you're going for appetizers, the short rib tacos are superb (including the slightly spicy sauce).
