Tom H. • March 5, 2016Fancy Latin American restaurant with a great view of the East River. A walk along the adjacent Gantry Plaza State Park is recommended.
Gabriel H. • August 28, 2015The chicken stew is amazing. Load it up with hot sauce. The meat literally falls off the bone. Only $6. My go-to lunch in the neighborhood.
Matthew B. • September 15, 2018Really great flaky crust and solid fillings, wish they had better sauces
Mingster C. • January 21, 2015It's like being able to order lunch specials any time of the day! My favorites so far are the chicken nuggets and turkey burger combo. The portions are also very generous! This is a very small place.
Peter F. • March 25, 2018A refreshing change in a neighborhood predominantly filled with Indian food. Barlovento serves Latin cuisine from Puerto Rico, Cuba, and the Dominican Republic. Great drinks, great food.
Joe C. • September 9, 2010chicharron de pollo (crackling chicken over rice), one of the Thursday specials, is great. Ask for the lentils...
Alexander M. • August 25, 2014Great quesodillas, margaritas, and guacamole. Sit on the roof!
Steve L. • April 29, 2010Truck now located on corner of 37th St. and 7th Ave. Monday thru Friday. Looks like everything is $10 or under. Free delivery as well.
What's Good Here • October 9, 2014The Empanadas de Jueyes, fried patty stuffed with crabmeat, are delicious and have a crispy, flavorful crust. Beware though that the filling uses imitation crab like that found in California rolls.
Ronny A. • July 14, 2016Best value for your buck in midtown. Salads and bowls with grilled meats on top. Great ambience and music. Highly recommend. Get there before 1 if you dont want to wait.

Jessica K. • May 28, 2015Wow, my chicken arepa was the best random lunch I've had in a really long time. The arepas here are delicious, soft on the inside, with a delightful crisp on the outside. Can't wait to try others!
Natalie L. • September 25, 2021Great cocktails, great Latin American food. The birria torta and loco burrito were the favorites of the night, and churros for dessert.
