- The trains to Grand Central arriving on Track 5 board on both sides. Look for the Express trains...two stops and your home. They are older trains but you are on them for a shorter time.Upvoted Mar 8
- Alex BennJuly 13, 2011The 8:16 AM to GCT is usually one of the brand new trains -- catch it if you can. 8 cars so plenty of seats, better lit, quieter and softer ride, much better seats.
- Jon ThomasFebruary 5, 2015Pedestrian bridge from garage is on fourth floor, so don't rush to park in the first spot you find.
- Make sure to buy food before coming here. Subway, Dunkin Donuts, a little store that sells lotto, chips and magazines (2nd floor), and a liquor store on the 1st floor are your options here. Enjoy!
- Skip the long lines at Dunkin Donuts and support the local coffee shop just outside the lobby on the north side. Coffee's just as good and the sandwiches are made fresh... Yum.
- NiaJuly 30, 2023Buy your ticket on the platform or make sure your cell has a battery charge to show your e-ticket. The onboard convenience fee is about $6!!! If you have the app you may be able to buy onboard.
- Tip: when fixing the escalators in the up direction turn the escalator in the down direction OFF. All working escalators are in the down direction. Doesn't help when I want to go UP
- The Amtrak ticket counter is behind the Dunkin Donuts. There are no red caps here so have a friend who can help you get into the train if you need assistance.
- Ladies: be prepared, there are NO hooks on the doors in the restroom and barely enough space to shut the door if you have luggage. If you're traveling with a friend, ask them to hold your bags.
- Theodore DavisJuly 27, 2016Best advice is buy your ticket before you get on the train. The on-board prices are no joke.
- Buy a ticket...get on a train...sit the eff down... and look out the effing window.
- You better buy ur tickets in advance! Few side machines and it is almost the double of the regular price in the train.
- Java Joe's has great coffee and fresh food. Support the business and stop there for your morning kick in the pants.

- Little known fact: You can buy tickets at the track level on track 4 by the taxi station. Towards he back of trains headed to Grand Central.
- Do NOT park here - unless you're looking to kill time. It amazes me there's only 1 cashier on during rush hour.

- Always faster to get to the tracks from below than going upstairs to the station.
- Lobby package store has a wide selection of beers to go. Sams Winter is my recommendation.
- This station can be confusing...so grab some Java Joe's and breathe!! Cabs are one way...buses the other...then the buses are a whole other kinda confusing :)
- Attached parking garage only accepts cash. Only signs are at the exit.
- Erica GeorgeJuly 28, 2009If you're going north, stand on the platform that has access to both tracks 2 and 4. That way you won't miss your train when they keep switching which track it's coming in on.
- Express trains to/from NYC and rental car companies across the street are the only things this place has going for it.

- One of the ticket machines take RFID credit/debit cards. Kinda cool. Finally.

- Valerie SeidMarch 30, 2010If going south during the evening rush, go on track 3 all the way up to the front of the train. More likely to get a seat that way.
- Pre-purchase your ticket at the station before boarding the train and paying the surcharge.
- The walkway from the parking lot into the train station is on lvl 4
- Park on level 4 of the garage and take the sky bridge to your track or the station.

- I agree with Bobby. There should be arrival and departure signs, tracks, and times on the PLATFORM!!!
- They need track side train information boards here bad...they also need more track side ticket machines.
- Bathroom is beyond gross. Go on the train. Odd numbered metro north cars have them
- If you step on my heel, you are too damn close. Back off and give space people! We will all get to work and catch our shuttles!
- Trying to pick someone up here is like navigating a mine field. Be cautious.
