- Amy GrillNovember 29, 2014Gorgeous tunnel from the trains to the station. Odd to find a modern tunnel under such a historic building and there doesn't seem to be any architectural connection but I love the tunnel regardless...
- Even though the website says cash only, you can buy a ticket with a credit card. Also, if transferring from the Shoreline East, show your ticket to get the station fare!
- #Amtrak trains usually get in about 1-2 minutes after Metro North trains depart so if trying to save a few bucks, expect to wait an hour or so to catch the next one. There are @Amtrak red caps here.Upvoted 1 day ago

- There’s another Dunkin’ Donuts downstairs (across from Sbarro) if the main one has a long line
- It's easy to find. The Metro-North ticket vendor also Metro Cards for the Subway.
- Trains usually arrive right on time, so if you’re anxious to get on the platform early — don’t be. Stay warm / cool inside and head up 2 mins early.

- BrandonJune 19, 2012Best Dunkin'Donuts in all of New England. I recommend a hot coffee while you wait for your departure.
- R TNovember 4, 2011When headed to NYC take the metro north but keep in mind peak Vs off peak. M-f try to leave after 8:18 to save $5. Also buy your ticket at the machine Vs being unprepared on board as you'll pay more
- Jerry CMarch 8, 2019The lobby ceiling is the only nice thing about this train station. Food offerings limited to mini-SBarro, Subway and 2 Dunkins.
- The smell of Subway diffuses into the main hall of the train station and makes the entire building smell like rotten lettuce. Sit as far away as possible—after you grab a sugar cookie, of course.
- Why yes I love the train ❤️💕 but these bus got WiFi and chargers 😁😄😄
- R TNovember 4, 2011This train station is located in one of the more shady parts of new haven. Steer clear of the dealers across the street from the station and the projects.
- Seriously, they're just letting the dogs walk up and sniff you, if I'd something you'd never know, and there's food being served in here!!!
- When you're connecting from Shoreline East, make sure you have cash to pay for your Metro North ticket on board. I had to run to buy my ticket inside and barely made my "connecting" train.
- They have two Zipcars here...both blue Ford Focuses. One's a sedan and the other is a five door hatch!

- NancyFebruary 22, 2011During the winter months, stay upstairs in the station instead of waiting out near the track until a couple minutes before your train is expected. It's warmer and not as crowded!
- One of the most architecturally pleasing small train stations you'll find
- A large secure waiting area with Amtrak and MTA Metro North ticket windows. The station offers two Dunkin Donut stores, a Subway (Sandwiches), and Sbarro. There is a nice newstand with newspapers, m
- Nice station, but place needed more bathrooms like yesterday. Impossible to use one in a timely fashion.
- Pay no mind to the countless TV monitors that have yet to be put to use after sitting for years
- If you buy your Metro North ticket at the window or on the train, you're an idiot. Ticket Vending Machines are your friend.
- Great station. Plenty of seating, decent food options in a pinch...nothing fancy, though.
- On the platform: if the station is on your right, you're facing NYC (west).
- Women's room doesn't have trash disposals in the stalls. That means you have to toss out any feminine hygiene products used in the trash in front of everyone. Awesome.
- Come for the trains, stay for the gross incompetence that leads to a two-year long renovation of a 100-foot long hallway!
