Great tacos, as a Mexico City native I can say these place serves the best tacos in DC. Handmade corn tortillas and top quality ingredients are key to an excellent flavor. Impressive mezcal list too!

If you're in a breakfast mood, try the breakfast burrito. Very substantive w/a good bite to it. Choice of chorizo or bacon in the burrito. Burrito Bowl Desnudo w/o tortilla also good for lo-cal diets.
It may be lazy considering the name but have the tacos. Flour tortilla with carne asada is my favorite but it's pretty hard to go wrong.
Corn tortillas forever--more authentic. They even double tortilla 'em, which is also super authentic. Three tacos was more than enough; they're loaded!

The rotating special is almost always a winner. The menu changes regularly in response to seasonal produce. Everything is delicious and I love their freshly made tortillas. Get the iced hibiscus tea.
Stylish vegetarian tacos with a premo location on the C&O Canal. Creamy kale and potato is overhyped, but try the smoky eggplant. Small selection of wines and beers, delicious fresh corn tortillas.

Dis is the jewel of DC tacos. Corn tortilla tacos w black beans, sour cream, lettuce, tomato, pico, guac, and mestizo salsa is my usual jam. But the fish tacos really hold their own as well!

Great little family owned Mexican restaurant in Southeast DC. The staff was very attentive, food was piping hot and delicious and the margaritas and sangria were awesome! Ever, the owner, is great!
Go to Los Cuates, a little undiscovered gem of a Tex-Mex-style restaurant. Order mixed fajitas. Ask for a side of their clarified butter-garlic sauce and some extra tortillas. Thank me later.
