Very hip, trendy cafe-style restaurant with great coffee, excellent healthy food options, and a pretty decent beer selection as well. Wifi is free. Big couches w/ coffee tables or regular tables.
The best movie theatre in town. Period. It's a pop up but I hope they make it a perm spot. Cool lounge with a good selection of wine, beer, snacks, comfy seats, not overpriced, great art house movies.
Great art house film house. It is a pop up, but the theater felt legit. The overprice craft food/drink fit the hipster vibe of the yuppie union market (not to say I didn't partake in said concessions)

Absolutely amazing! Super friendly staff, always willing to help (particularly us new knitters) & great selection. The regulars are fantastic, too. They've usually got interesting projects & stories.

I love the cozy atmosphere of this book store, with its warm lighting and comfortable seating areas. It's the perfect place to curl up with a good book and escape into another world for a while.
You can find great deals here in the bargain bins and the fun "I <3 rap" bins with CDs. Always fun to waste some time looking at 100s of books.

Yummy VEGAN lasagna! A couple of comfy pleather couches and tables so, unlike most venues, you don't HAVE to stand the whole time the band plays (though you can).
Don't go to the Red Room. Go to El Centro or Masa 14 instead. They're way better. I repeat: do not hang out in the Red Room with its awesome bartenders, couches and great jukebox.
Food for Thought has the cheapest and some of the tastiest vegan food in the city. A must.

Great ambiance, good service and tasty food. However it does not worth the price. Tried the zucchini ravioli. It was normal. The mushroom croquet was delicious! Highly recommend it!

Georgetown classic! More homespun & creative than competitor down the street. Love the Pretty Bitchin' (PB) and moist, chocolatey TX Sheetcake. Great coffee, cozy seating area. Staff is knowledgeable.

Barracks Row hotspot from Momofuku alum Aaron Silverman, with an eclectic menu spanning pho to popcorn soup. The bar upstairs, furnished with antique couches, is a nice perch to wait from.
There's usually a waiting list – even for seats at the bar, so grab a drink and try the couch on the second floor for a cozy way to spend the time.
Very awesome back patio area with comfy seats and low bar tables. Curry was good, but not amazing (had to add in quite a bit more spicy chilis even though they gave it a 5 for spiciness)

Great hotel right in the heart of Penn Quarter. When the weather is nice the outdoor seating at Poste is one of the best bars in the city.
