Everything is very clean, including the broth for the pho. That's not usually a good thing since people like their broth beefy and rich. But even so, the pho & the other dishes were very good.

Loved the house gumbo and new England clan chowder but the portions are huge!
Ritter's is great, hearty, comfort food. I always get the house pan roast, spicy level 8. I could eat that every day. I have also tried his clan chowder that is also thick and perfectly seasoned.
So darn cold in this place--pack a subzero jacket when you come. Pan Roast is awesome but the calm chowder was Ah Maze Ing!!
