Try going during the sunset, because seeing the city during the day and during the night are two different and great experiences.

Walking across the old train tracks you will get an amazing panoramic view of Manhattan. Don’t forget to look towards the Hudson River as well: at one point you can even see the Statue of Liberty!

Views from the gantries is amazing. Nice cafe on the south end, LIC Landing, if you need a quick drink. Flea market on the northeast end of the park on summer Saturdays. Very clean and modern park.

This is the place to be Sunday nights. But if you want to go when it's chill, check it out on weekend afternoons and catch a great view from the rooftop.

Make sure you dress up for the amazing Top of the Standard on the 18th floor. Great views over the city, live salsa music and exquisite people is what you get here.
Nice cocktails, awesome view, you'll enjoy some kind of 20s sophistication! But don't forget to dress up... (worst case scenario, you can always go to Le Bain next door, the crepes are amazing there)

Incredible views and cocktails, but the food and service is hit or miss. Great place to bring out of town guests for that nyc “wow” factor. Faux-Pastrami appetizer is the best thing on the menu.
