Anya Roxie: One of the most awesome places I’ve ever been to. A marvelous example of early Byzantine architecture. Awesome mosaics inside. Be ready to spend several hours inside.
The Telegraph: Right across from the cistern is the greatest single building in a city full of wonders, the Hagia Sophia or Aya Sofya (£8.70, closed Mondays). It was a church, then a mosque and is now a museum.
Turkish Airlines: Haghia Sophia is considered one of the finest architectural works in the world. Although it was occasionally damaged and repaired, its essence remains untouched especially since 1453.
