This whole block is like stepping into the past to Fort Payne's boom town days when Northern investors build a town on speculation of coal reserves. There's a neat museum inside the depot.

Just a short drive down US 11 is Trade Day, a Saturday morning open market. Bring cash and go as early as you can for the best deals.
This was the county's first courthouse. If you are going to hit Trade Day, makes for a neat side trip. Pretty countryside.
Great little place for lunch. Go there on a night and you'll typically find music of some sort, as well as colorful locals. Park in the back and enjoy some conversation on the deck in the summertime.
