Loved everything I had; seaweed salad, shrimp dumplings and the pork dumplings. Spicy tuna roll is always a favorite. But don't miss the vegetable tempura plate; DELICIOUS.
My favorite sushi joint for take out and dine in in the uws. Homey, clean, and fresh. Be prepared for a long wait during dinner.

Even with a great selection to choose from I still stick to the spicy blue crab roll and house salad with watercress, avocado, carrots, and ginger dressing, can't beat it!
I recommend getting the fried chicken to start + share. The vegetable tempura udon was delicious - great if you're in the mood for a more traditional udon. Really loved the way they did their tempura!
Hip udon place. Authentic, with a laid-back vibe. The kakiage here was generously portioned and wonderfully crispy. Cash-only.
Definitely get an order of the fried chicken to start, then go for any of the udon bowls.

Ask if they have salmon or yellowtail cheek or collar on the menu as a special, if so (they usually do), it is a MUST try!

One of the best Japanese restaurants outside of Japan. Ask for any special sushi/sashimi options of the menu -- they may have something very nice. Also the Ohmi beef is amazing (but $) nocheap :))

Like being transported to Tokyo at this hidden gem. The taro and vegetable tempura and egg custard with shrimp and chicken were highlights.

It was the place to showcase the Japanese craftsmanship. A healthy light tempra just like at an expensive tempra restaurant in Japan. A hidden gem.

My go-to sushi spot in the East Village. Sit at the sushi bar and chat with Jack, the chef. He's hilarious and the high quality + unique sushi here is an amazing bang for your buck.

Fantastic reasonably priced fresh fish here for lunch special around 12$! At dinner it's a bit more, but worth every penny! Try the chefs choice Omakase
Great fish, but I don't understand the music they play here. Madonna and disco don't make for a relaxing dinner. Put on some jazz!
