Honghui Yu: The split pea tyacote is delicious but very small. In general you'll need about 2 to 3 plates per person to make a full meal here
Kayleigh Harrington: Amazing mezcal menu, sit at the bar for brunch. Don't miss the split pea talcoyos.
Erin: Eat at the bar. Chat with your server. Order the split pea tlacoyos and have a cocktail (suggest the Salado Verde)!

Serious Eats: The Vegetarian Combo piles include beets, red lentils, yellow split peas, cabbage, gomen (collards cooked with garlic and onion) and shiro (ground and spiced chickpeas) sitting atop injera.
Marcus Samuelsson: Doro wot ($15) It is a classic dish from my birth country, Ethiopia. It reminds me of my brothers and sisters back there. My wife, Maya, cooks the best version of doro wot. Read more.
William H: The food is incredible--combos are an especially good deal--but the place has negative ambiance and is unbelievably stingy with the injera.

KE: Make a reservation, it gets packed before 8pm. House red wine, their soup of the day (split pea) was great. Desserts looked amazing but we didn't have time to have one!
ᴡ Soca: Burgers are a MUST. People watching, (especially with the late crowd after shows) is to die for.
Andrew Andrew: After a great show or a flop, get the meatloaf!

Julian Fleisher: All the soups here rock, but the split pea is astral.
Zach Linder: Challah french toast, soups, blintzes, pierogies. A NYC institution, remnant of a bygone era, and one of my favorite places on the planet.
Serious Eats: Eastern European vegetarian lunch counter. Go for breakfast hash browns, egg and cheese sandwiches on challah, and plenty of Old World charm.
Anna Jay: Their egg sandwiches are the best in this neighborhood. Also they have an incredible selection of drinks. Note: cash only.
Joe D: Order a 2-egg Bacon Egg & Cheese and you will be delighted. Bacon so crispy...

Daniel Cape: Yellow split pea is great but only made amazing by adding a squirt of hot sauce, a small dollop of sour cream (do the dollop!), a spoonful of salsa verde & a pinch o' pepper.. (i.e. get w/tuna tacos.)
Jess S: Cozy & tasty! Get the #10 veggie & hummus sandwich toasted. Packed w/flavor thx to pepperoncini's hidden in there. Great Udi GF bread too! Country salad & homemade dressing is amazaballs- must try.
